PEARL SOCIAL PRIVACY POLICY

Effective Date: March 8, 2026

At Pearl Social (“Pearl”), we understand that our curated collective thrives on trust and discretion. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Pearl Social application and participate in our community events.

1. Information We Collect

To maintain the integrity of our ecosystem, we collect data that helps us verify your identity and facilitate meaningful connections:

  • Profile Data: When you apply and join, we collect your name, age, professional credentials, and biography.

  • Media: We store photos and videos you upload to your profile or share within the platform’s community feeds.

  • Social Connectivity: We may collect links to your external social media profiles (e.g., LinkedIn, Instagram) provided during the vetting process.

  • Connections & Interactions: We store data regarding your connections (who you follow or match with), messages sent through the app, and participation in "Ask/Give" channels.

  • Event Data: We collect information regarding your plans, including events you RSVP for, attendance history, and any dietary or accessibility preferences provided for in-person gatherings.

2. How We Store and Protect Your Data

We treat your data with the same level of exclusivity as our membership:

  • Secure Storage: All personal data, photos, and connection logs are stored on secure, encrypted servers.

  • Access Control: Access to member data is strictly limited to Pearl’s internal vetting and operations team.

  • Data Minimization: We only store what is necessary to facilitate the "Pearl experience." If you leave the collective, your data is earmarked for deletion subject to our legal retention requirements.

3. Use of Information

We use the gathered data solely to:

  • Curate the Community: Verify eligibility and maintain a high-quality peer group.

  • Facilitate Connection: Suggest relevant members and events based on your interests and professional background.

  • Safety & Security: Monitor for "Vegas Rule" violations (e.g., unauthorized screenshots or doxing) to protect the collective.

4. Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. Information is only shared in the following contexts:

  • With Other Members: Your profile and shared content are visible to other verified Pearl members to facilitate networking.

  • Service Providers: We may use third-party vendors for secure hosting, payment processing (for event tickets), and communication (email/SMS notifications). These partners are contractually bound to keep your data confidential.

  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of our members at in-person events.

5. Your Rights and Choices

As a member of a private collective, you maintain control over your digital footprint:

  • Edit/Delete: You can update your profile photos and social links at any time within the app settings.

  • Account Termination: Upon terminating your membership, you may request the permanent deletion of your profile data.

  • Data Portability: You may request a copy of the personal data you have provided to us.

6. Updates to This Policy

Pearl Social reserves the right to modify this Privacy Policy as our community evolves. We will notify members of significant changes via the app or your registered email address.

Note on Discretion: By using Pearl, you acknowledge that while we use industry-standard security, the ultimate protection of the community relies on the mutual "Vegas Rule" agreement found in Section 3.1 of our Terms of Service.
